      Accessibility Statement

      • galerialarcada.com
      • 12/12/2025

      Status of compliance

We firmly believe that the internet should be accessible to everyone, and we are committed to providing a website accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of their circumstances and abilities.

To achieve this, we strictly adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) at level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with various disabilities. Complying with these guidelines helps us ensure that the website is accessible to everyone: blind people, people with motor disabilities, visual impairments, cognitive disabilities, and so on.

This website uses various technologies designed to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We use an accessibility interface that allows people with specific disabilities to adapt the website's user interface (UI) to their personal needs.

In addition, the website uses an AI-powered application that runs in the background and constantly optimizes its accessibility. This application corrects the website's HTML and adapts its functionality and behavior for screen readers used by blind users and for keyboard functions used by people with motor disabilities.

If you have noticed any errors or have any suggestions for improvement, we would love to hear from you. You can contact the website administrators via the following email address.

      Screen reader and keyboard navigation

Our website implements the ARIA (Rich Internet Accessible Applications) attribute technique, along with various behavioral changes, to ensure that blind users visiting the website with screen readers can read, understand, and enjoy its features. As soon as a user with a screen reader accesses your site, they immediately receive a request to access their screen reader profile so they can navigate and operate it effectively. Below, we show how our website addresses some of the most important screen reader requirements, along with console screenshots and code examples:

Screen reader optimization: We run a background process that learns the website's components from start to finish to ensure regulatory compliance, even during updates. In this process, we provide screen readers with meaningful data using the ARIA attribute set. For example, we provide accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, shopping cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form entries; and functions for elements such as buttons, menus, modal dialogs (pop-ups), and others. Additionally, the background process scans all images on the website and provides an accurate and meaningful description based on image object recognition, such as an ALT (alternative text) tag for images without descriptions. It also extracts text embedded in images using OCR (optical character recognition) technology. To activate screen reader settings at any time, users simply press Alt+1. Screen reader users also receive automatic prompts to activate Screen Reader mode as soon as they access the website.

These settings are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.

Keyboard Navigation Optimization: The background process also adjusts the website's HTML and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable with the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website with the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdown menus with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, activate buttons and links with the Enter key, navigate between options and checkboxes with the arrow keys, and complete them with the spacebar or Enter key. Additionally, keyboard users will find quick navigation and content skip menus available at any time by pressing Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site when navigating with the keyboard. The background process also manages pop-up windows, shifting the keyboard focus to them as soon as they appear and preventing it from wandering.

Users can also use shortcuts such as "M" (menus), "H" (headings), "F" (forms), "B" (buttons), and "G" (charts) to access specific elements.

Disability profiles compatible with our website
Epilepsy Safe Mode: This profile allows people with epilepsy to use the website safely, eliminating the risk of seizures caused by flashing or blinking animations and risky color combinations.
Mode for People with Visual Impairments: This mode adapts the website for the comfort of users with visual impairments, such as degraded vision, tunnel vision, cataracts, glaucoma, among others.
Cognitive Disability Mode: This mode offers various assistance options to help users with cognitive disabilities, such as dyslexia, autism, stroke, and others, to focus on the essential elements of the website more easily.
ADHD Adapted Mode: This mode helps users with ADHD and neurodevelopmental disorders to read, navigate, and focus on the main elements of the website more easily, while significantly reducing distractions.
Blindness Mode: This mode configures the website to be compatible with screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. A screen reader is software for blind users that is installed on computers and smartphones, and websites must be compatible with it.
Keyboard navigation profile (for people with motor disabilities): This profile allows people with motor disabilities to navigate the website using the Tab, Shift+Tab, and Enter keys. Users can also use shortcuts such as "M" (menus), "H" (headings), "F" (forms), "B" (buttons), and "G" (graphics) to access specific elements.
Additional user interface, design, and readability adjustments
Font settings: Users can increase or decrease the font size, change the typeface, adjust spacing, alignment, line height, and more.
Color settings: Users can select various color contrast profiles, such as light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. They can also swap color schemes for titles, text, and backgrounds, with more than seven different color options.
Animations: A person with epilepsy can stop all running animations with a single click. Interface-controlled animations include videos, GIFs, and flashing CSS transitions.
Content highlighting: Users can choose to emphasize important elements such as links and titles. They can also choose to highlight only the elements they focus on or hover over.
Audio muting: Users with hearing aids may experience headaches or other problems due to automatic audio playback. This option allows you to mute the entire website instantly.
Cognitive impairments: We use a search engine linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, which allows people with cognitive impairments to decipher the meaning of phrases, initials, slang, and more.
Additional features: We offer users the option to change the cursor color and size, use a print mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and many other features.
Compatibility with browsers and assistive technologies

Our goal is to offer compatibility with the widest possible range of browsers and assistive technologies, so our users can choose the tools that best suit their needs with minimal limitations. Therefore, we have made every effort to provide compatibility with the leading systems that represent over 95% of the user market share, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera, Microsoft Edge, JAWS, and NVDA (screen readers).

      Notes, comments and suggestions

Despite our best efforts to make the website accessible to everyone, some pages or sections may still be inaccessible, in the process of becoming accessible, or lack a suitable technological solution. Nevertheless, we are continuously improving our accessibility by adding, updating, and enhancing options and features, and developing and incorporating new technologies. All of this is aimed at achieving the optimal level of accessibility, keeping pace with technological advancements. For any assistance, please contact us. art@galerialarcada.com
